  3. Why needed? • Most counties have more than one school district • Some schools have only one LMS • Need to know other professionals • Network with public library • Network with college or private libraries • Sharing ideas and resources

  4. Established Feb. 23, 2009 8 Present from 6 school districts

  6. May 2013 -12 present representing 6 school districts and GarCoLib Jan. 2013 – 12 present representing 6 schools and ASMSA and GarCoLib

  7. Where? When? • Meetings at first monthly at local restuarants • After two years we started meeting every other month at school libraries • When Gar Co Lib director began letting his Youth and Children’s librarians attend---we met at their facility some • When ASMSA joined, we met at their facility once • Now meeting two to three times a year: late Sept., January, May • Minutes are posted to the wiki for anyone not attending and email reminders and reports are mailed to the distribution list • Other area school lms are invited even if not in the county so we some times have lms student interns or lms from Magnet Cove, Bismarck or even LR

  8. Agenda items • Each person brings something to share; may be printed to hand out or not • GarCoLib passes out calendars for us to post in our facilities • We troubleshoot problems • We discuss Prof Dev events that are upcoming and encourage presenting and attending ArLA, AASL, and AAIM

  9. Outcomes • Networking with library professionals in our city/area • Sharing resources and ideas • Not having to reinvent the wheel for event ideas • Themes are shared and ideas for programming • GarCo has helped us with many events
