  4. Objective & Purposes To provide the youth of Hong Kong an opportunity to take part in : • Aviation Training • Leadership Development • Community Services

  5. Aviation Training • To encourage and aid the people of Hong Kong in their contribution of their efforts, services and resources in the development of civil aviation.

  6. Leadership • To develop within the youth of Hong Kong, by example and inspiration, the qualities of leadership and good moral character

  7. Community Service • To encourage and develop by example the voluntary contribution of private citizens to the public welfare. • To promote international goodwill by participating in exchange programmes, rallies, conferences and other activities with overseas youth organizations.

  9. The HKACC Emblem香港航空青年團團徽 • Comprises a three-bladed propeller (三片螺旋槳) • Encircled with the wordings "Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps". • The propeller symbolized the three important qualities of a leader • Honesty (誠實) • Tolerance (忍耐) • Justice. (公正)

  10. Organization Structure of HKACC

  11. Executive Board (EB)執行委員會 • The governing body of the HKACC is theExecutive Board. • The Executive Board consists of the Chairman主席, the Commandant 總監, the Commanding Officer司令, the Honorary Secretary榮譽秘書, the Honorary Treasurer 榮譽司庫, and a number of other members其他會員.

Executive Board (EB)執行委員會 • The Chairman, Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer are electedby a majority vote of Voting Members of the Corps at the Annual General Meeting. • The Commandant and the Commanding Officer are appointedby the Executive Board and are ex-efficio members of the Board. • TheCommandant, who either holds the rank of Group Captain or Air Commodore, is the titular head of the HKACC, and is the most senior uniformed member in the Corps

Headquarters (HQ) 總部 • The chief executive of the HKACC is the Commanding Officer (CO) who holds the rank of Group Captain. • The Headquarters, Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps (HQ HKACC) is responsible for all Air Cadet Corps operations. The HQ staff, either senior members or permanent staff, are appointed by the Commanding Officer.

Headquarters (HQ) 總部 • The HQ is composed of major units (groups and wings) and units (squadrons and flights), each with an Officer Commanding (OC) as the unit head. • Squadrons are organized intothree regional wings (Hong Kong Island Wing, Kowloon Wing, New Territories Wing) and a pan-regional wing (No.6 Wing). • HQ units and regional wings are in turn formed into groups established broadly on a functional basis (Administration Group, Operations Group, Training Group).

  15. Headquarters (HQ) 總部 • Senior officers (Squadron Leader to Group Captain) command groups and wings. Other units are usually under the command of junior officers (Pilot Officer to Flight Lieutenant). • An Advisory Board consisting of senior officers also exists within the HQ establishment to advise the Commanding Officer on the Corps’ business. 諮詢委員會是由一群資歷較深的長官所組成,就有關團的運作向司令提供適當的意見。 • The Liaison Unit and the Honorary Officer Coordination Unit both have status equivalent to a HQ Group.

  16. Squadron (Sqn)中隊 • The basic operating unit of the HKACC is theSquadron. It is where air cadets have their regular meetings and training. • The minimum strength of a squadron is 35 cadets. A squadron has a meeting place such as a school, a community centre or a public building. • Each squadron is commanded by a junior officer, who is normally assisted by a number of other officers, instructors and cadet non-commissioned officers.

Enrollment Qualification for Cadets 學員入團資格 To be eligible for enrollment as an Air Cadet, a candidate should: • have attained his/her 11th but not his/her 20th birthday; • be willing to undertake disciplinary training; • be of good moral character; • have a reasonable knowledge of the Chinese and the English languages; • be able to pay other expenses in the Corps; • have his/her parents’ or guardians’ consent; and • not belong to another cadet organization.

  20. Record of Service 服務記錄 • The Cadet Training Record Book 學員訓練記錄冊 will be given to a cadet on his/her enrollment. • It keeps a record of a cadet’s development, which includes: • Training received • Outdoor activities participated • Community services joined • Classification/rank attained

  21. Uniform Cadets are required to wear HKACC uniform when: • engaging in official HKACC duties; • attending HKACC meetings; • making public appearances as part of an HKACC group; • attending official functions as a representative of the HKACC; and • flying under HKACC Flight orders.

  22. Uniform Uniform must not to be worn • in any public place where the environment may tend to discredit the HKACC or its members; • when engaging in political activities; • when engaging in paid employment not connected with the HKACC; • when participating in sports events; and • when attending social functions not connected with the HKACC.
