  2. FIRST YEARS • She was born in the neighborhood of Madrid of Marvels on February, twelve, 1888, in a family of humble origin. Her mother was designer and her father, book-keeper of a newspaper. • To the death of this one, one sees obliged to interrupt her studies and she started to work at the corps of Post office and Telegraphs in 1909

  3. STARTS IN POLITIC • In 1923 participates in a series on Feminism Youth organized by Women University where she began to develop her ideas on the right to equality of women.

  4. POLITICAL MOMENTUM • She was the first woman who intervened to the Supreme Court. • In 1928 she co-created along with other European countries the International Federation of Women in Legal Careers together with Victoria Kent. • She was a delegate of Spain at the League of Nations.

  5. REPUBLICAN AGE • After the dictatorship, she joined the Radical Party and she is presented to the 1931 elections for the Constituent of the Second Republic, gaining a seat as deputy for Madrid. • Clara Campoamor stays true to its principles and defends the right of women to be considered citizens above their vote.

  6. LAST YEARS In 1936, following the military coup of General Franco against the Spanish Republic, Clara Campoamor is exiled to France, Argentina and Lausanne where she died in 1972 without having had the opportunity, to the conditions imposed by the Franco government, returning to Spain as was her wish.
