  5. Quality of Life Survey • 398 respondents; 47.8% response rate • Last year was 445 with a 55.5% response rate • More than 1,600 responses to 15 open - ended questions (same as last year)

  6. ACU Strengths(Values in parentheses are the corresponding percentages from the 2005-06 survey) • 94% have a good understanding of the ACU mission. (95%) • 89% believe staff & faculty mentor and model Christian values before our students. (88%)

  7. ACU Strengths • 91% say supervisors treat employees with respect. (91%) • 89% are proud to work at ACU. (90%) • 87% would recommend ACU as a good place to work. (88%)

  10. Quality of Life Requests • Process for senior administrators to receive formal feedback (evaluation) by staff and faculty • Staff senate • Regular communication between faculty, staff and the Board of Trustees • Faculty/Staff Chapel

Salary Commitment • Establish a regular routine of publicizing aggregate salary information and progress toward meeting stated goals. • Annual faculty/staff meetings • At least annual Faculty Senate reports • At least annual Staff Senate reports (proposed) • Annual report to Board of Trustees

  16. Salary Commitment • 3-year plan completed (FY06- FY08) • Met increased commitments • Promised $4.5 million – delivered $4.5 million • Total salary pool increase of 16% • Missed CUPA-HR national averages; CUPA averages moved, as well • We will continue to work toward our benchmark

  17. Salary Commitment • Determine what long-term salary goals/ benchmarks need to be. • In progress • CUPA has changed reporting capabilities and methodology • CUPA averages are nationwide and don’t take regional costs of living into consideration

  18. Salary Commitment • Take appropriate steps to ensure raises for faculty and staff are not compromised by other university priorities. • 39% of FY06-FY08 budget allocations were salary increases • A top priority • Largest single allocation each year

  19. Nonexempt (hourly paid) salary study Wage parity project • Appropriate benchmarks • Wage groupings • Structured methodology -Point ranking system -Job factors with weighting -Criteria for each factor

  20. Future of the Quality of Life Task Force • I will commission an ongoing team of faculty and staff with revolving, but overlapping terms. • Primary responsibilities will focus on monitoring progress, administering the survey and advising ACU’s administration on an ongoing basis.

  27. 21st Century Vision • Received positive feedback from the campus regarding the Vision and the direction it will move the university • Lots of work to be done between now and August to craft a strategic plan of “big rocks” • We cannot make the Vision a reality without all of you! • Talk about it, pray about it, plan for it
