  1. OPEN BUILDING IN VALENCIA 1946 - 1988 unitarian cases fromthesis of Javier Perez Igualada

  2. GENERAL LOCATION GROUPS IN VALENCIA Thenew neighborhoods were built on the periphery of the Valencia city between 1946 and 1988. The following examples are included in the Javier PérezIgualada thesis: "The open building city. Valencia, 1946-1988"

  3. VIRGEN DE LA FUENSANTA GROUP (1957 - 1960)

  4. VIRGEN DE LA FUENSANTA GROUP LOCATION Vírgen de la Fuensanta group was designed in 1957 (one month after the great overflow of the river Turia) and built between 1958 and 1960 as a residential Plan of Flood affected families. It is located between the streets Tres Cruces and TresForques as principal and reference streets.

  6. The original group is structured with a branched road, where streets in cul-de-sac stem from a broken central axis, relating the weft of the road with the different blocks orthogonally in the case of dead ends, so parallel in the case of the central axis and at an angle close to the "Colonia Española de México" square. In the Vírgen de la Fuensanta group we can find clearly the zoning uses. Linear blocks are only housing, commercial zones are located in a central location around a neighborhood center with church, school and shops.

  7. The homes (58 m2 and 65 m2) are projected at equidistant linear blocks. They have five plants with similar dimensions and two bays, the interstices are green areas in the project. These blocks as we have said previously are oriented differently to provide different types of environments and perspectives. The green areas projected between linear blocks were greatly reduced to create new parking spaces and streets mentioned. In the equipments, a sports hall and an extension campus was added. As the branched road hadn´t parking, had to open new roads for that space.
