OnePlus reaches in Top 5 Premium Android Smartphone Vendors Globally in Second Quarter of 2018 According to a report by counterpoint on Wednesday OnePlus have reached in top 5 premium android smartphone makers across the globe in the second quarter of 2018, driven by strong response it has got in developing countries like India, China etc. it has made a space for itself globally and looking to launch its 6T model in festive season this year.

  2. As per reports on internet, OnePlus is categorised as the fastest growing brands in the $400-600 price range. The overall premium smartphone segment grew at -1% whereas Oneplus clocked a growth of +7% in the second quarter of 2018. The premium segment consists of devices above $400 and has a 20% global smartphone market. A market research firm said in a statement that "In India, it (OnePlus) surpassed Apple and Samsung to become the number one premium smartphone OEM during the quarter with a strong 40 percent market share. It was also amongst the top five premium smartphone OEMs in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden and the UK on account of strong initial sales of OnePlus 6," There are around 40 OEMs globally that compete for the premium smartphone market share, but the top 5 captures almost 88%. The premium smartphone market is led by Apple that has around 43% market share with Samsung on the second place with 24 % followed by Oppo with 10%. Apple dominates the premium segment of $800+ with 88% share in the second quarter.
