What’s new in the Java world? • NFJS Lone Star Software Symposium – July 20-22, 2012 • Google vs. Oracle trial outcome • Java 7 Update 4 released – OS X support, new Garbage Collector for large heaps (G1), JavaFX 2.1 co-install, flag to unlock commercial features, a few bug fixes • Java 1.6_32 released – many bug fixes, hotspot, garbage collector, NIO, compiler, plug-in, JWS, XSLT, installer, XML, CORBA • World Wind Developer Conference report March, 2012 • JavaOne 2012 - September 30 - October 4, 2012 • JacORB 3.0 released – lots of bug fixes & robustness improvements, non-blocking I/O for the client side using NIO, CORBA 2.0-3.1 support • NetBeans 7.2 Beta – Performance tuned release, lots of good feedback so far • jMonkeyEngine (3D gaming) SDK & NetBeans 7.2 – looking for testers
