What is the difference between Earthwool and Glasswool?

There is not much of a difference between Earthwool and Glasswool (or Fiberglass). However, one would still be advised to connect with a reliable insulation provider to assist them in making this all-important choice. Refmon Industries are a leading refractory material supplier, providing all sorts of insulation solutions.

  1. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EARTHWOOL & GLASSWOOL www.refmon.in Earthwool Glasswool Glasswool, also known as Fiberglass insulation, is among the top choices for commercially used insulation. It is useful in both residential and commercial settings. So, one can assume them to be a highly versatile solution, and they would be right. Glasswool insulation is made using glass fibres, hence the name. It is layered quite similar to wool, with tiny and empty pockets in between. Earthwool is actually another type of Fiberglass insulation, so there are a lot of similarities between them. Just like Glasswool insulation, Earthwool insulation traps heat. It also is a lightweight insulation solution, making it popular for residential use. It also protects against mold growth, another feature it shares with Glasswool insulation. Now Onto The Difference Between the Two. Honestly, as mentioned earlier, there is not much of a difference between these insulations due to Earthwool basically being a variant of Glasswool. But that is not to say that they are entirely the same. There are a couple of distinguishing factors that separates them both. Earthwool insulation is a more environment- friendly solution. Earthwool insulation is considered the more environmentally friendly of the two. It is because of the absence of any petrol-based chemicals. Instead, Earthwool insulation utilizes bio-based materials, which obviously are renewable and less harmful to the environment. One would also find a noticeable lack of bleaches and dyes in Earthwool. That is the reason why it has a natural color and the reason behind the name. Glasswool, on the other hand, contains petro-based chemicals, bleaches, and dyes, which certainly is not helpful for the environment. Glasswool can cause skin irritation. Yes, that is right. Glasswool has been known to cause skin irritation in people, especially among those with skin sensitivity. This is due to the rough and itchy texture it has. On the other hand, Earthwool is soft to touch. The softer touch also results in the faster installation of the insulation. Servicemen are advised to wear gloves while installing both of these installations. Glasswool is a bit of a health risk. The presence of formaldehyde in Glasswool is not a positive indicator. Sure, it is not considered unsafe for use, but it is still better for one to opt for no-formaldehyde Earthwool. References https://www.statusthoughts.com/difference-between- earthwool-and-glasswool/
