Federalist Period Presidents came from either Virginia or Massachusetts Cabinets were often composed of veterans of Revolutionary War Jacksonian Era: Presidents also came from western states, such as Tennessee and Ohio “spoils system” often used to fill cabinet positions Comparisons between Federalist Period and Jacksonian Era

Federalist Period Suffrage was available only to those who were male, white, Christian, and owned property Inaugurations were usually formal and aristocratic in appearance Jacksonian Era: Manhood suffrage allowed all white males to vote Inaugurations were sometimes noisy and chaotic Comparisons between Federalist Period and Jacksonian Era
