Criteria • Timely unlimited demand on these qualifications not pending on single companies • VET for qualified work within a broad sector with personal responsibilities • Oriented on long term work, not limited by age • Broad based general VET • Possibility to develop a VET standard • Satisfactory differentiation to other VET qualifications • Opportunity to define the objectives of the VET qualification • Opportunity to define the objectives of the VET qualification • Basics for continuing VET and career progression (LLL) • Acquisition of competencies in application knowledge and skills for solving task

  9. Field of activity • IT system electronics technicians (m/f) plan and install information technology and telecommunications systems, including the relevant equipment, components and networks. They install the power supply and the system and commission the system. They produce customized solutions by modifying hardware and software. They analyse faults and rectify malfunctions. • Typical areas in which electronics technicians work include computer systems, fixed networks, radio networks, terminals and security systems. • IT system electronics technicians qualify as skilled electrical technicians under accident prevention regulations.

Occupational skills IT system electronics technicians • inform and advise customers on possible uses of information technology and telecommunications equipment and systems; • install and configure information technology and telecommunications equipment and systems; • install power supplies and test electrical safety measures; • install networks and wireless transmission systems; • set up information technology and telecommunications equipment taking into account ergonomic considerations; • carry out maintenance work on information technology and telecommunications equipment and systems; • use expert and diagnostic systems to locate and rectify faults; • instruct users on operating the systems; • invoice customers for services provided.
