  2. https://certification.ctc.edu/default.aspx Logging in Once your account has been established, you can log into the system using your e-mail address and the password that was e-mailed to you. If you have forgotten your password, click here.

  3. Selecting instructor summary from menu To review the status of your instructors, click on “Instructor Certification Summary” to the left.

  4. Checking instructors self assessment The online system will automatically e-mail you when one of your instructors has submitted their self-assessment. To review a self-assessment submitted by one of your instructors, click on “Submitted”.

  5. Printing out the self-assessment Print the instructor’s self-assessment, and schedule a time to meet with them to review it. If there is an area that you feel the instructor is weak in that you would like them to select as an area for professional development, discuss that with the instructor.

  6. How to approve assessment When you are ready to approve a self-assessment or return it to the instructor to revise, click on the date listed under “Prof/Tech Cert Details”.

  7. Approve or returning assessment • Based on your review of the instructor’s self-assessment, either: • Return the self-assessment to the instructor for revision • Approve of the self-assessment

  8. How to approve professional development plan (PDP) The system will again e-mail you when one of your instructors has submitted their professional development plan (PDP). Click on “Submitted” to view their plan.

  9. Printing out the PDP Print out and review the instructor’s PDP. Check that at least five activities have been planned, and that the activity and assessment methods seem satisfactory. Schedule a meeting with the instructor to review the plan.

  10. How to approve or return a PDP When you are ready to approve a PDP or return it to the instructor to revise, click on the date listed under “Prof/Tech Cert Details”.

  11. Approve or return PDP • Based on your review of the instructor’s PDP, either: • Return the PDP to the instructor for revision OR • Approve the PDP • Once you approve of the plan, the system will automatically notify the chief workforce administrator, who will then review & approve the plan and issue a printed certificate to the instructor.

  12. Updating PDP activity As your instructor meets with you or e-mails you regarding their PDP activity, click here to update progress on activities.

  13. Entering PDP activity Scroll down to enter information on any progress.

  14. Editing PDP activity or approving an activity Site administrator will check final approval Click on “Edit” to approve the completion of any activity.

  15. Saving edits or approval of an activity Be sure to click “Save” once you’ve approved the completionof an activity or added any notes.

  16. What About Deans? According to the WAC, Deans need to be certified as well It is possible to certify Deans through the same online system Deans can be set up with a separate “Instructor” account using a different e-mail address.
