  1. JROTC CADET LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE CAMP TANAH KEETA JUNE 4 – 7, 2018

JCLC is conducted at the Tanah-Keeta Scout Reservation, Tequesta, FL. • 4 day resident camp for over 300 selected cadets from 14 schools with JROTC Programs representing Lee County • Designed to teach Cadets leadership skills, provide an opportunity for adventure activities, games, and a chance to forge teamwork with Cadets from other JROTC programs. What Is JCLC?

  3. 2016 JCLC MHS Briefing • Camp LDRSHIP at Tanah Keeta June 4-7 • Traditional Camp with numerous activities. (More Information to follow) 40 Cadets and supporting Cadre. • There will be Broward County Cadets with Supporting Cadre integrated with the companies as well. • Rising Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors.

  6. What To Bring… • Good Attitude • A Readiness To Learn • A Willingness to Prove • Yourself • Big Smile On Your Face • Adhere To Clothing/Equipment checklist provided in the Sign Up Packet

  7. What Else? Uniforms and Equipment • An Army Duffle Bag, sufficient to pack all needed items, is provided to each cadet. Storage space is limited. 2 large plastic garbage bags are provided for rain-proofing items. • ACUs (minimum of 3 sets): Trousers, ACU cap, ACU belt, socks (5 pair), tan T-Shirts (5 each). • Civilian clothes • Medical release required (Sports physical recommended).

  8. Transportation • Cost to the Cadets is $10.00 • Buses take cadets to and from Camp. • Bus departs June 4th, SFHS • Bus returns on June 7th, SFHS • The SAI/AIs will provide final departure/arrival times

  9. How Much Does It Cost? • FUNDS REQUIRED: Camp fee covers T-Shirts and Awards, all remaining costs for the encampment covered by the U. S. Army. • (This camp would cost approx. $1,000 if received from a private source.) • Cadets only need personal spending money for snacks/drinks from vending machines or the canteen, if desired.

  10. Safety • Camp Safety Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) • 1 Safety Officer • 6 - 8 Medics • 6 Companies

  11. Medical Support • Health clinic staffed by Doctors and trained Medics • 2 Medics with ambulance per company • Local civilian and military hospitals • Established safety procedures • Cadet selection process

  12. Where Will I Sleep? Cadets stay in campsites with 2-person wall-tents with wooden floors - neither is air conditioned. Each site has a large picnic shelter.

  13. What Will You Eat? • Healthy meals provided by Tanah Keeta inside a large dining facility • 3 meals a day

  14. IS THERE SUPERVISION?HOOAH! (YES!) • Four Instructors (TACs) for each Company • One Chaperone per Company • Area Night Patrols By Instructors

  15. Female Chaperones • Certified Volunteers • 1 Per Company/1 Per Female Barracks • Counselors For Female Cadets • A.K.A. “Camp Moms”

  22. SELECTION CRITERIA • Be a cadet in Good Standing • Physical Activities each day. • If you have a medical condition you must get a physical by a doctor approving you for extended activities. • Passing all classes with a 2.0 GPA or higher
