Midland School _____________________________________________________ Enrollment • Current = 102 students • 2 intakes scheduled Program and Facility • Literacy • New class started with 5 students in September • Improving communication and reading skills • Designed to meet the needs of students who require more challenging English and Language Arts

Employment Services _____________________________________________________ 2019 GRADUATES • Twelve students • One student interested in childcare • One student interested in light maintenance MAS Individuals Developing jobs in the following careers: • Food Service – kitchen prep • Dining/Assisted Living Facility – setting/bussing tables, rolling silverware • Bakery – packaging baked goods • Hotel – dining area or housekeeping/laundry • Production Work – assembly work • Utility Person – light maintenance • Supermarket – stocking shelves, grocery returns Enclaves in place • Goodwill Industries/Bound Brook (Date established May 2018) • Two individuals hired • Sorting incoming donations and distributing them onto the sales floor • Three days per week • Top Safety Products/Branchburg (Date established January 2018) • Three individuals hired • Assemble first aid kits • Three days per weeks

Employment Services _____________________________________________________ MAS- E Professional Development Living with Disability: December 4, 2018 Accessing & Improving Culturally & Linguistically Appropriate Services • Keynote Address: Health Disparities at the Intersection of Race, Ethnicity, and Disability • Roundtable Discussion: How Poverty and Disability Interact to Affect Employment. Hosted by David Free, Acting Director, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services • Top 5 secrets to working with employers, including avoiding the pitfalls and traps of disability inclusion well intentioned employers, jobseekers, and providers often encounter. Strategies will be shared for daily employment service delivery, proactively creating talent partnerships with employers, working collaboratively to form networks for success, and addressing risk or misperceptions.

EXPLORES Day Habilitation • Program • Roster remains at 28 participants. • We continue to have Meals on Wheels every day • Staffing • Continuing recruitment efforts • Two staff currently on leave • Identified Midland 2019 graduates to be enrolled in June • Initial stages of creating Pre-Vocational Program at same site • Will not change any current classrooms, may share the computer lab • Increase capacity for this service • Increase reliability for work sites _____________________________________________________

Community Residential Services and Supports _____________________________________________________ • Internal promotions to Support Manager • Marcia Kirkland – Old York Road (from Acting Manager) • Lineker St. Hilaire – Parsonage Hill Drive (from Assistant Manager) • Department of Human Services/Office of Licensing • Licensing report received, fully licensed through May 2019 • Plan of Correction returned with one minor change needed, corrected and re-submitted, awaiting acceptance • Quality Assurance Plan • Annual inspection by outside contractor – Completed, final report received • Facilities review – Completed November 8, 2018, Next scheduled for February 21, 2019 • Nursing reviews – Ongoing • Monthly medication reviews • Quarterly medical appointment reviews • Monthly client assessments • Quality reviews – Ongoing Quarterly • Challenges of Fee For Service with hospitalization of individuals we serve and support

Community Residential Services and Supports _____________________________________________________ • Development • Case Road, Neshanic Station, NJ renovations nearly complete – Projected to open March 2019 • Hockenbury Road, Hillsborough, NJ currently under renovation – Projected to open July 2019 • Property in Bernardsville – Projected to open September 2019 • Working with a developer on apartments and possible properties in Hillsborough and Branchburg, – Timeline To Be Determined • Fee for Service • All residents are now in Fee For Service (FFS) • First individual enrolled in FFS – February 2018 • Most recent individual enrolled in FFS – October 2018 • Policies that intersect with FFS are being reviewed as residents reach one year under the new system

The Midland Corporation 2018-2019 2nd Quarter Financial Report _____________________________________________________ The Midland School Financial Highlights – Profit & Loss • Tuition Revenue from enrollment is down $160,700 from Budget due to lower 10-month enrollment of 6 and ESY of 2, and $32,900 due to Nov 16 snow day • Tuition payroll is down $37,300 due to timing of certain hires, and expenses are also down $70,200 due to lower spending and timing (no unusual trends noted)

The Midland Corporation 2018-2019 2nd Quarter Financial Report _____________________________________________________ Midland Adult Services Financial Highlights – Profit & Loss • Residential – down $364,100 from Budget due to 4 open placements, delayed opening of HBR & Case, absenteeism, turnover coverage, timing of “flip” into FFS • Employment - down $108,200 from Budget due to 15 fewer clients (no backfill for transfers to Explores) and lower Product Assembly margins, partially offset by lower personnel costs (turnover) and an increase of 13 clients for DVRS • Explores - up $26,500 from budget due to lower expenses from turnover and other lower spending partially offset by unfavorable changes in FFS rates / days / attendance
