  2. I. The aim of Christ is revealed again vs 17-19 Mar 10:34 And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.

  3. II. The ambitions of a family are revealed vs 20,21 Mar 10:35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.

  4. Mar 10:36 And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?

  5. Mar 10:37 They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.

  6. III. The answer of Jesus comes with a question of His own vs 22,23 “Ye know not what ye ask.”

  7. IV. The anger of the disciples reveals an attitude that is still around today vs 24

  8. V. Asking to be great in Christ means being servant to all vs 25-28

  9. Did the sons of Zebedee get their wish? Act 12:1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

  10. Act 12:2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

  11. What about John? Rev 1:9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
