DSTT Goals and Objectives • Applications like CEOP, EODP, and others are employing Web services technologies • Application tasks focus on users, data, functionality, and outreach. • Technology tasks could focus on approaches/architectures, technical reviews, standards reviews, lessons learned.

  5. DSTT Goals and Objectives • Scope of Web services challenges User Needs – Discovery, Access, Analysis of Data and Information User Clients, Portals, Applications, and Tool Sets Standard Services, APIs, Data Extraction, Product Generation services Data and Information Storage Solutions

DSTT Goals and Objectives • Proposal: • Clarify role of DSTT as a “technology” team • Consider renaming: • Remove Task Team designation and change to something like Community or Interest or Technology Evaluation Team. • Change name to focus on Web Services? • Possible deliverables? • Recommendations and guidelines • Promote cross-Agency reuse • Document and share lessons learned • Share strategies and visions

DSTT Goals and Objectives • Next Steps? • Draft new terms of reference for review and proposal at WGISS25 • New format (not at TT) • Fresh focus on Web services • Possible deliverables • Create draft “topical outline” for Web Services • Identify primary topics of interest or concern related to Web services usage for presentation/discussion at future meetings • Identify Web services technology reps • Consider evolving to possible concurrent sessions to resolve agenda problems. • Update WGISS DSTT web site
