  2. What if… You didn’t have to read at home for homework unless you wanted to.

  3. What if… You never again had to bring a reading log home to get signed.

  4. What if… You were given time to read IN CLASS and you could read what YOU want.

  5. Introducing…

  6. R&R (Relax and Read)

  7. Every single day… When you enter reading class, a timer will be displayed on the ENO board.

  8. Every single day You will have at least 10 minutes to read anything you choose: You may choose any of the books in the classroom library. You may choose a magazine. You may visit the IMC to find a book. You may read a book/magazine from home.

  9. Every single day You are invited to read at your desk or you may read in another location in the classroom.

  10. Every single day You should start reading as soon as you enter the classroom. The sooner you start the more minutes you’ll have!

  11. Every single day You will be given time to write down what you read in a reading log. You can write your log in a journal or complete your log online. You won’t ever need to get your log signed because I will see you do your reading.

  12. A few guidelines • R&R is silent. • I love to recommend books! Our classroom is full of addictive books that are just waiting for you! • You will be asked to write two book reviews every quarter. These reviews mustbe written about books or magazines you read during R&R. • You will be asked to complete one book project each quarter.

  13. Guidelines cont’d • You will receive 2 points of extra credit for every book you finish during the quarter up to 10 books. Books that are more than 200 pages will count as 2 or more books. • You may check out classroom library books/magazines to bring home with you. • Classroom Kindles CANNOT leave our classroom. • R&R is not a time to do homework.

  14. What if… You knew that the first 10 minutes of every class were always yours to relax and read?
