  1. 5 Easy Tips for your wood hot tub maintenance

  2. Got a newly purchased wooden hot tub? This classic hot tub is sure to impress anyone, giving a luxury treat to your home but also needs cleaning and maintenance. Though wooden hot tubs have an easy maintenance process, yet you must take care of your tub to keep its classic look intact for years. To have a safe and enjoyable experience, it is necessary that you follow the general maintenance tips. If this is the first time you are using the wooden hot tub, this post can help you in real-time.

  3. Keep water in the tub all the time A wooden hot tub is constantly under the water impact. When your tub is dry it tends to contract, on the other hand, it expands when it is wet. Once filling the tub with water, if you leave your tub dry for a long time, the gaps between the boards get wider and there is a greater chance for leakage. The best way to prevent your tub from being dry and leakage are to keep your hot tub filled with water every time. To avoid the growth of fungi and mould, you must change the water regularly and clean your tub every now and then.

  4. Schedule quick cleaning & deep cleaning You should plan your tub cleaning schedule in advance to keep it lavish-looking and clean always. The quick cleaning should be done regularly which does not require much hassle. As a part of your quick cleaning, you can simply remove the filter of the tub, rinse it, let it dry and place it back. For cleaning purposes, you can use a cartridge cleaner that can be sprayed right on the filter. As a part of deep cleaning, you must use filter cleaning chemicals, which might take hours to get it done. However, deep cleaning can be done every 3-4 months.

  5. Treat your exterior walls of the tub Keeping in mind the weather conditions, the exterior of your hot tub should be treated every 1-3 years, using Linseed Oil or any recommended product. Using the oil on timber or cedar hot tub ensures that it provides better resistance to the wood in extreme weather conditions. Especially during the summers, you must take special care as wood gets dry and prevents rotting. However, note that you must not treat the inside walls of your hot wood tub with any oil or chemicals.

  6. Give your tub a full inspection As a part of your wooden hot tub maintenance, you must give it a full inspection. Make sure to check the tub carefully inside and outside for cracks, cuts, or any other damage. If you keep an eye on your tub on a regular basis, you can prevent heavy costs that may incur in fixing big problems. Every year you should carry a full inspection of your hot tub 2-3 times at least.

  7. Get a hot tub cover You may not realize the worth of a tub cover but it plays a vital role in protecting your tub. If you have your tub set up outdoors, there is a risk of getting the water polluted, which can be taken care of with a cover.  A hot tub cover also helps to ensure that evaporation and chemical use is minimum and provides superior insulation to trap the heat in. For the aesthetic purpose and a wonderful aromatic essence, you can get a wood hot tub cover that perfectly matches your wood hot tub.
