MATOC Program • MATOC = Metropolitan Area Transportation Operations Coordination Program • Purpose: interagency real-time transportation information sharing, supporting regionally coordinated management of transportation systems, transportation incident and emergency response, and public information needs • Objectives: • Improve technological systems for data sharing • Enhance standard operating procedures & notification practices • Provide more timely & accurate transportation information to the public especially during incidents

MATOC Program Background and Status • 2005 TPB support, SAFETEA-LU funding through Congressman Moran • MATOC documents developed and signed recently • MOU, bylaws, funding agreement • Contract for consultant support - Request for Qualifications (RFQ) out now • Award anticipated in August • Steering Committee meets monthly, active since 2004 • Proposed formation of an Executive Committee
