Money left to spend after necessary expenses are paid such as mortgage, utilities, insurance, food… Discretionary income = gross income - taxes - all compelled payments (bills)

In 2014 slightly less than half of all Americans (45%) report spending more than they did a year ago, while 18% report spending less Regardless of economic conditions, the role of the sports and entertainment marketer is to find ways for consumers to spend those dollars with their organization
