  7. Test Taking Strategies • Keep a positive attitude throughout the whole test and stay relaxed. • Don’t try to cheat, any grade is better than a zero and worse consequences. • When you first receive your test look over it to see the ones you know and calculate how long it will take you. • Do the easiest problems first so you have time for the harder ones later. • Don’t rush and read the questions carefully.

If you have a paper do the night after a big football game make sure you are already done with the paper so you are not stressing that night and do not stay up all night working on it.

  9. Study Skills Do’s Don’ts Don’t start to study everything the night before the test. Don’t study near a television or loud environments. Don’t study on your bed or you will be tempted to sleep. If you are studying with another person make sure all you talk about is subject you are studying. Don’t study in a dark environment. • Study in a comfortable and quiet place. • Take notes and write a summary of the important ideas as you read through your study material. • Make sure you understand the material and don’t just memorize everything. • Study the most important information first. • Study in a library because it is quiet, calm and you have information all around you.
