  1. In-n’-Out Plastic Dividers For Lunchboxes! Madison K. 8 years old Mississippi, USA

  2. Step 1 – Think it! My food in my lunch box always scrambles all over in the lunch box, and gets squished. So I invented plastic dividers you can put in your lunch box to keep it neat and organized.

  3. Step 2 – Explore it! I found out that someone invented something similar to my idea. My dividers come out of the lunchbox. The other dividers have 2 parts that are glued into the lunchbox, and it doesn’t say that it is selling in stores. My dividers can be adjusted 3 ways. The others had certain slots to put them in.

  4. Documentation of Sources Lunch box with divider structure, www. Google. Fr/patent/US7004323, 2012 Lunch box with divider structure, www. Patentbuddy. Com/Patent/7004323, 2014

  5. Step 3 – Sketch it!

  6. Step 4 – Create it! I’m tracing a paper divider onto a cardboard piece for a prototype of the real thing.

  7. How the cardboard dividers turned out.

  8. The cardboard dividers didn’t reserve enough space for the bread. That’s why you have to test it first!

  9. My dad is handing me a divider he finished cutting.

  10. All the 6 dividers lined up. 3 small and 3 large

  11. All the dividers put together in my lunchbox.

  12. Now the bread fits! (We had to resize the dividers.)

  13. Step 5 – Try it! When I first tried the dividers, the spaces were too small.

  14. Step 6 – Tweak it! My dad and I added more slots so that the dividers could be adjusted to different size compartments.

  15. Step 7 – Sell it! (Click on the picture to view the video.)
