  2. Constitution of IQAC • Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Vivekananda Vidyabhavan has had a functioning • Internal Quality Assurance Cell since December 2013 • It has been reconstituted in 2018 under the revised UGC-NAAC Guidelines.

  3. Primary Goals and Mission • Ensure sustained academic and administrative excellence. • Developing a process of systematic, conscious and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the institution. • Prioritization of quality enhancement and institutionalization of best practices. • Promotion of environment and gender-friendly campus with special focus on social, physical and mental disability/ies. • Encouragement to quality research and dissemination.

Strategies • Improving institutional functioning through regular interaction with the Managing Committee. • Creating an internal and external mechanism for Academic and Administrative Audit . • Formulating an organised methodology of documentation and internal communication. • Enhancing coordination among various activities and bodies of the institution. • Issuing guidelines for green campus and preparing for green audit. • Facilitating a conducive institutional back up for ICT enabled teaching-learning and research.

Regular Activities of IQAC • Systematic collection and analysis of data. • Preparing and submitting AQARs. • Coordinating the work of existing structures in the college, like Research Cell, Teachers’ Council and its various sub-committees, Gender Resource Centre, among others. • Organizing modernization of academic infrastructure, including ICT Enabled learning initiatives, where relevant in collaboration with the RUSA Committee. • Awareness camps and community outreach programmes. • Gender sensitisation programmes, in collaboration with Internal Committee and Gender Resource Centre.

  7. Recent Activities • The IQAC was central to the preparation of the NAAC- SSR for the second round, which was submitted to NAAC in 2015 and evaluated in 2016. The College was awarded ‘A’ Grade and CGPA 3.07. • The IQAC has been submitting the AQARs under the Third Cycle. • The College has been successfully implementing the RUSA grant of Rs. 2 crores for Infrastructural Development. • The IQAC has been preparing targets and recording Actions Taken Report.

  8. Action Taken Report 2017-18 • Timely preparation of Academic Calendar and internal examinations and holiday schedules in collaboration with the Academic Sub-committee. • Admissions policy making in consultation with administration and Heads of Departments. • Review meetings with all stakeholders. • Students’ feedback taken. • Organisation of extension lectures. • Online Admission, Result and Registration process completed. • Library bar-coding process completed. Automation underway. • Meetings with Management to ensure smooth running of the College.

Actions Taken During 2018-19 • Full automation of the College library achieved. • Sustained functioning of Gender Resource Centre with Awareness Programmes. • Regularisation of research programmes and interdepartmental initiatives, particularly by the Department of Philosophy in collaboration with the ICPR. • A workshop was organised for conducting an Academic and Administrative Audit in the Academic Session 2020-21. • An Innovation Cell has been created to systematically foster the culture of innovation following the MHRD initiative. • A Library Workshop was organised for further modernization. • Initiated the process of opening a unit of the NSS in the College.

  10. Green Campus • The IQAC is formulating concrete guidelines for a Green Campus. • The College with the initiative of the Geography Department organises regular programmes on Environmental Awareness. • The College Kitchen Garden has systematic organic farming • Student’s posters on global warming and on eliminating the use of plastics.

  11. Challenges and Opportunities • Coping with the challenge of creating placement opportunities. • Need to go in for more career oriented courses while retaining the values of humanistic education. • Gearing the college to move for more post graduate departments and research set ups. • The coming of RUSA and other funding schemes provides the college with the opportunities to go in for innovations, research and collaborations. • The college has successfully implemented the CBCS Courses at all levels.
