  1. Romans 6 rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 1 John 2: 15 - 17

  2. LASCIVIOUS = filled with or showing sexual desire: LEWD, LUSTFUL LUSTS = usually intense or unbridled sexual desire: LASCIVIOUSNESS; CRAVING EXCESS OF WINE = indulgence in alcohol: DRUNKENNESS REVELLINGS = a carousal (as if a letting loose): rioting BANQUETINGS = a party of drinking alcohol ABOMINABLE IDOLATRIES = illegal idol worship SIN

  3. For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. These are dead to sin – Romans 6: 1- 6 Judged by MAN’S standards in the flesh, i.e., condemned, censored, declared “strange” because they no longer serve sin. These are ALIVE in Christ, and their lives are conducted according to God.

  4. But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. The time of judgment is set – Acts 17:31. Therefore, our conduct before God and man is critical to teach others! And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. This type of CHARITY is patterned after the CHARITY of Jesus. His love is what removes our sins!

  5. Use hospitality one to another without grudging. Hospitality = the graciousness of providing a “hospital” for those in need. This is a spiritual “hospital” … an environment that causes the cure for spiritual ills including sin. This “hospital” is provided WITHOUT grudging! As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. The “gift” is the remission of sins; the gospel obeyed. This “gift” is to be ministered (served/preached) as stewards (caretakers) of the grace of God.

  6. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Oracle = oral speaking as if the Originator were speaking. Minister = service in the ability God gave God, NOT MAN, is to be glorified through Christ. It is HE who merits all praise and dominion.

  7. Fiery trials are a part of being a Christian. 2 Timothy 3:12 Rejoice in the participation of CHRIST’S SUFFERINGS. I it HIS glory that is revealed when you serve Him (vs. 11) While opposers believe they are hurting you, it is YOUR conduct that is glorifying Christ. We must never be guilty of being murderers, thieves, evil doers, gossips … But if we are opposed because we are Christians, we must not be ashamed!

  8. Judgment begins with the church. Since it begins with us, we need to realize the importance of our conduct – WE CAN BE LOST! Note: “If it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” If the RIGHTEOUS scarcely be saved, where will the ungodly and sinner be found? Therefore, if we suffer for righteousness sake, be committed to that righteousness!
