  1. 'I only commentate on cricket', Says Michael Holding on not doing IPL commentary Former West Indies pace bowler Michael Holding is not only known for his game but also for his brilliant commentary on cricket. Holding made headlines last year during West Indies' tour of England when his passionate speech against racism on Sky Sports was appreciated by everyone. He also gave a fitting response when he was asked about why he has not commentated on the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is arguably the most popular franchise T20 league in world cricket right now. While saying that he didn't consider the shortest format as 'even cricket', he added: "The T20 tournaments around the world are the bane of the game. When you are a poor country and can’t afford to pay as much as England, Australia, and India, the players will go on to play T20. That’s where West Indies and others are getting hit," he added. His comments came as in the past few years, many West Indies cricketers have opted to play franchise cricket, rather than playing for the nation and that created a lot of disputes between the board and players as well. However, the veteran said that he didn't blame the players for this but he did blame the administrators as well. "When you are earning 600,000 or 800,000 dollars for six weeks, what are you going to do? I don’t blame the cricketers. I blame the administrators. They give a lot of lip service to Test cricket but all they are interested in is bringing in money into their cupboards… West Indies will win T20 tournaments which aren’t cricket; they won’t be a force in Test cricket," Holding said.
