  1. ‘I Would Play Both Ashwin & Jadeja’- Maninder Singh India will take on New Zealand in the final of the inaugural World Test Championship in Southampton from the 18th of June and former left- arm spinner Maninder Singh has said that India should play both R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. He further added that it could be the decision that changes fate as well. Image source by twitter India have a strong pace attack with the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav and they prefer pacers over spinner and usually play with one specialist spinner in overseas conditions as well. But the recent success of both Jadeja and Ashwin outside India with both the bat and ball could give the team the ideal balance if they chose both of them in the playing XI as well. “If I was in the team management, I would play both Ashwin and Jadeja. They can be a huge factor. There is going to be wear and tear anywhere as the Test match progresses. I keep talking to my friends there (in England) and they say it has become hot, these summer temperatures will soar. So if it is going to be the way it is then moisture won’t be that much effective. The pitch will dry out and spinners will start getting purchase and both the spinners are of good quality,” added Maninder.

  2. He also praised Ashwin for his stunning show in the 2020-21 season. However, it will be interesting to see who will get the chance in the playing XI.
