  1. Ian Chappell Rates New Zealand Pace Attack Better Than West Indies' from 80's New Zealand have recently won the inaugural World Test Championship (WTC) after beating India by 8 wickets in Southampton. While their pace attack did the job, veteran former player Ian Chappel said that their bowling attack is better than what West Indies had in their 80s. As a consequence, they have enjoyed success in Australia, reached the final of the WTC, and now have an even-money chance of beating England on their home turf," Chappell wrote in ESPNcricinfo. “Good pace bowling definitely has its advantages." The former player and one of the game’s biggest analysts over the years, believes that India too has a good fast bowling unit such as Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. He praised New Zealand fast bowlers, naming them in the same category as the fearsome West Indian pace bowling unit from the 1970s to mid 90s. “New Zealand’s well-deserved win in the World Test Championship final highlighted an accepted adage in cricket: fast bowling rules," Chappell said. “New Zealand’s pace quartet — Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Neil Wagner, and Kyle Jamieson — made possible their presence in the final. Then in the prolonged battle with India for supremacy, the quick bowlers led the last-day victory charge." He further added, “Such was the influence of the New Zealand attack that there was even a comparison with the formidable West Indies quartets that ruled from the late-1970s to the mid-1990s."

And, Chappell believed that the results achieved by the New Zealand team is even better than the West Indies had under Clive Lloyd and he said that it became possible only by the Kiwi pace attack. Even he also applauded the lanky pacer Kyle Jamieson for his stunning bowling as he claimed a fifer and helped his side win alongside others.
