  1. If Shastri Is Doing Good Job, There Is No Point To Remove Him, Says Kapil Dev Ravi Shastri’s contract as the head coach of the Indian Cricket Team will expire after the T20 World Cup 2021 which is scheduled to take place in the UAE. While several experts are sharing their opinion to bring Rahul Dravid at the helm for the top job, former Indian skipper Kapil Dev thinks different and said that there is no reason to replace Shastri if he is doing a good job. And, this raises questions whether he will be appointing as the new coach once Shastri’s contract ends. However, Shastri was named India’s coach after the end of the Champions Trophy in 2017 as he replaced Anil Kumble. Since then, under his guidance, India won back-to-back Test series in Australia. “I don’t think there isany need to speak about it. Let this Sri Lanka series get over. We’ll get to know the kind of performance our team has dished out. If you’re trying to shape a new coach, there’s nothing wrong with it. Then again, if Ravi Shastri continues to do a good job, there’s no reason to remove him either. Only time will tell. Before that, I think it will put unnecessary pressure on our coaches and players,” Kapil Dev said on the Wah Cricket Show on ABP News. Kapil Dev also opened up on the youngsters representing India while he is concerned about the team as they are playing too much cricket. “India have big bench strength. If players get the opportunity and India can assemble two teams that can claim to win in both England and Sri Lanka, there is nothing better. If the youngsters get the opportunity, there’s nothing wrong with it. But if it is up to the team management to decide whether they should apply such pressure on two teams simultaneously,” Kapil Dev concluded.
