Jaydev Unadkat Opens Up After Overlooked From India’s Test Squad The Indian pace bowler, Jaydev Unadkat was overlooked for the Test squad which will travel to England for World Test Championship Final and five-match Test series in England. Notably, he led Saurashtra to their maiden Ranji Trophy title win after picking up a record-breaking 67 wickets in the 2019-20 Ranji season. Image source by twitter Despite having a great show, he wasn’t been selected for the squad as BCCI decided to select young talents in the reserves list. Meanwhile, the current Indian pace attack has already a lot of quality players which makes it difficult for him to break into the team as well. However, there is no surprise pick in India’s main squad for the series and they have selected four youngsters like Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, and Arzan Nagwaswalla as backup players as well. Meanwhile, former Indian fast bowler, Dodda Ganesh raised questions over his exclusion as he asked what else does the speedster has to do to get selected in India’s Test squad. He tweeted,” What else does @JUnadkat need to do to get into the Indian test squad. It’s perplexing to see him being ignored again and again despite great performances year after year at the FC level #ENGvIND.” He continued: “All those trolling kindly go and have a look at Unadkat’s performances at the FC level in the last five years. He’s been our best seamer. And, I would like to remind the fans that test team selection doesn’t happen on the basis of IPL performances. Hope this settles the scores.”

Unadkat responded by tweeting, “Your concern motivates me even more! Bring on the next season.” Notably, Undakat played his last Test for India way back in 2010 where he played against South Africa but failed to take any wicket. Currently, he is in his home in Rajkot as the IPL 2021 is suspended indefinitely.
