  1. Kane Williamson Happy As Kiwis Win The Final New Zealand captain Kane Williamson expressed his satisfaction after they beat India by eight wickets in the inaugural World Test Championship (WCT) final on Wednesday in Southampton after losing two consecutive finals. Image source by twitter Australia beat the New Zealand team at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 2015 after they had qualified for a final after losing six semi-finals. In 2019, they lost to England in the World Cup final at Lord’s on the back of boundary count after the teams were tied after both 50 overs and the allotted super over. However, on Wednesday New Zealand finally managed to win a final with Williamson unbeaten on 52 after a stunning 49 in the first innings. “It’s certainly a slightly different feeling being on the right side of the result," Williamson told a news conference. “The first semi-final was one-sided, the second one was pretty interesting. It was the first official world test championship, that’s a really good feeling. Both teams knew coming into the last day there were three possible results — win, lose or draw and we saw that things could happen quickly,” he further added. Along with him, New Zealand’s highest test run scorer Ross Taylor scored an unbeaten 47 as well and they added an unbeaten winning partnership of 96 runs as well. Young pace bowler Kyle Jamieson, who has impressed everyone since his test debut against India last year, was awarded the man-of-the-match after taking five for 31 in India’s first innings and then picked up two for 30 in the second along with an aggressive 21 with the bat as well.

However, India will play a five-match Test series against England now.
