This report summarizes the goals, activities, and evaluation results of the SPDG Technology Initiative implemented from 2009-2010. The initiative aimed to help SPDG projects effectively use new technologies for data acquisition, collaboration, professional development, and support for innovations in LEAs.

  3. SPDG Technology initiative In January 2009, the SPDG Program implemented a program-wide initiative to assist SPDG projects in using new technologies effectively and efficiently.

  5. SPDG Tech Initiative 2009- 2010 SPDG projects can acquire data more easily to make scientifically based decisions. SPDG projects are able to collaborate more effectively. SPDG projects are able to provide professional development in a more efficient and cost-effective way. SPDG projects can efficiently support the use of innovations in the LEAs. Access can be provided to people in rural areas and those with disabilities. Goals of the initiative

SPDG Tech Initiative 2009- 2010 Activities Accomplished in Year one • Launched nine Professional Learning Communities: Coaching Collaboration with Institutes of Higher Education, Leadership Development, Capacity Building, and Restructuring Family Involvement Multi-tiered Models of Intervention Positive Behavior Supports Scaling Up and Comprehensive Professional Development Approaches Secondary Literacy/Language Arts Secondary Transition SPDG Grant Management
