Japan Table manners • Before meals,you should show your appreciation. • Note the order of the meal.First soup. • Avoidblowing your nose. • Avoid talking about topics such as toilets • Try eating all food in the plate • After meals,put the tableware back to its original position, including chopsticks back into the original bag or box • After meals,you should show your gratitude.

  7. France • 1.One is supposed to speak more rather than be in silince . • 2.You must be in time to go for an appointment. • 3.You'd better speak France when talking to them.

  17. Summary • Manners are very important in every country, but the trouble is that different countries have different ideas about what counts as polite behavior. What is good manners in one country may not be appropriate behavior in another. Chinese people may be shocked at what counts as good manners in England.So, the safest advice for people , no matter what country you is visiting, is to follow the old proverb: when in Rome, do as the Romans do.

When you are in a restaurant • Chinese:“I want to have a hamburger.” or“I want to have a coffee.” • Westerner : Could I have a hamburger, please?”or“Can I have a coffee, please?” 2.If you want to refuse others invitation. • Chinese : Sorry,I can’t. I have another appointment. • Westerner: That is a good idea! I would like to join in but I have another appointment today.”
