Italy is sorrounded by the Tyrrhenian sea to the west, the Adriatic sea to the east and the Mediterranean sea to the south.

  2. ROME Rome is one of the most beautiful and famous cities in the world. It's the capital of Italy ITALIAN MONEY The politics of Italy is conducted through a parliamentary, democratic  republic with a multi-party system. Italy has been a democratic republic since June 2, 1946, when the monarchy was abolished by a popular referendum.

THE ALPS The Alps are one of the great mountain range systems of Europe stretching approximately 1,200 kilometres (750 mi) across eight Alpine countries from Austria and Slovenia in the east, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany, and France to the west, and Italy and Monaco to the south. The highest peak is MONT BLANC. APENNINES The Apennines or Apennine Mountains are a mountain range consisting of parallel smaller chains extending 1,200 km (750 mi) along the length of peninsular Italy.  The highest peak is GRAN SASSO D’ITALIA.

  4. GRAN PARADISO NATIONAL PARK Gran Paradiso National Park (4,061 m) is a mountain in the Alps and the main massif of the same name. The summit is totally in Valle d'Aosta although the southern section of its massive extends up in Piedmont. STELVIO NATIONAL PARK Stelvio National Park is a national park in the north-east ofItaly, founded in 1935. The park is the largest in Italy and covers part of two regions: Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol and  Lombardia, in 24 municipalities. ABRUZZO NATIONAL PARK The National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise is located for the most part in the province of L'Aquila in the Abruzzo and in Lazio and in Molise.

It is connected to Milan through a net of channels called navigli, which Leonardo da Vinci helped to design. The river rises at Mount Fumaiolo in central Italy and flows in a generally southerly direction past Perugia and Rome to meet the sea at Ostia. ARNO The river originates on Mount Falterona in the Casentino area of the Apennines, and initially takes a southward curve.   6. VOLCANOES IN ITALY Stromboli Stromboli is an Italian island belonging to the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands, in Sicily. The volcano is 926 m over the sea and reaches a depth of about 1700 m below the sea level. Stromboli has a persistent explosive activity and it is one of the most active volcanoes in the world.

  9. THE VATICAN CITY The State of the Vatican City. Vatican City is an independent state in Europe. In particular, it is the smallest independent state in the world in terms of both population and land mass of (0.44 km ²), but it is also in the second place in Europe as an average density of population.
