  1. XC Basics 0.060

  2. Overview • Features • Overview – Why XC ? • Application range • Documentation + Certifications • Funcionality – Analogies to other cab printing systems • Material transport • Additional setup settings • Direct programming • Color separation • Sensors – Monitoring • Setup • Limits cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  3. The Features • 2 color printer • One transport roll • Leporello usage possible • Options – CU and PCU • Ribbonsaver • Compact design cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  4. Overview – Why XC ? • XC ( X= Xtended - C = Color ) is designed as 2 color printer • Main reason for the development was the introduction of the GHS regulation. (GHS = Globally Harmonised System) • Available as 4 inch and 6 inch wide printers. Both with 300 dpi resolution cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  5. Application range • GHS labels • Pricing (Old price – new price) • Any other 2 color printing cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  6. Documentation +Certifications • All certifications available • Service manual and all other manuals available • Full documentation at www.cab.de cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  7. FunctionalityAnalogies to other cab printing systems • Two print heads • Two ribbon transport mechanisms • Identical CPU • Identical display • Identical setup and menu structure • Identical mainboard • Identical firmware • Lots of identical hardware components cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  8. Material transport cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  9. Material transport cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  10. Material transport cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  11. Material transport cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  12. Additional setup settings • Distance between the printheads • Head alignment in Y direction • Ribbon saver Jscript / On • XC is always left side oriented cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  13. Direct Programming • Data is sent by Jscript to both print heads • Print objects are positioned like one large print head – analog to the XD printers • The printheads are „cut“ in 2 pieces.... • ....theoretical • We decide to take 2 printheads instead. ;-) • But this is important to know and to understand how the positions for the objects are defined • The printer does not know anything about colors !! cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  14. Color separation • Color separation handled by the windows driver • Printer control via labelling software ( cablabel R2+ or cablabel S3) • Usage of „clean“ colors • Knowledge about color separation is necessary cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  15. Color separation • Color settings in the windows driver cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  16. Sensors - Monitoring • Print head open sensor 2x • Ribbon sensor 2x (with position LED) • Paper (material) sensor cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  17. Limits • Ribbon saver for the „first“ print head • Small ribbons can be used • How does the ribbon saver work ? – Mechanically - electronically • „One color printing“ • One color printing with ribbon saver ? • Multiple labels across –are not possible with the Jscript command. • Single labels only with blank labels between • No support of the serial interfaces • Supressed material backfeed cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi

  18. Thank you for your attention cab Produkttechnik GmbH & Ko KG - Thomas Rudolphi
