  3. Our Covering Purpose… Should not… Shaven or shorn When we cut our hair we are trimming our blessings away. If we are not covered, it is unsightly in the presence of God. • Our hair is given to us for a covering. Because we cover our husband it is our glory. • Glory means: honor won by a notable achievement. • Our hair even covers our heart…it acts as a shield to the world.

  4. Meek and Quiet Spirit 1 Peter 3:1-5 1 Timothy 2:9-10 He asks for Modest apparel, Shamefacedness (embarrassed/feeling shame), and Sobriety (quality of being solemn. Broidered hair, Gold, pearls. And costly array to what he wants from us. • Let it be the hidden man of the heart…an ornament of a meek and quiet spirit which is a great price • Not the outward adorning, wearing of gold, and the putting on of apparel

  5. Our Heart…His Jewel Galatians 5:16-26 When God looks at our hearts He should see it decorated with the fruits of the Spirit: (which are ornaments of Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, faith, meekness, and temperance (self-restraint). He doesn’t want to see…Adulters,Fonicators, Uncleanliness, Lascivious (revealing a sexual desire), Idolatry, Witchcraft, Hatred, Varience(inconsistent), Emulations (to put someone down to lift oneself),Wrath(extreme anger), Strife (angry argument over fundamental issues), Sedition (words one speaks to inflict a rise against authority), Heresies (belief against the bible), and Desirous of Vain Glory.

  6. His Jewel • Psalms 51: 16-17…Broken and contrite heart • Proverbs 3:15…More precious than rubies • Proverbs 8:11…Wisdom is better than rubies and all the things to be desired are not compared to her • Proverbs 20: 15…Lips of knowledge are a precious jewel • Proverbs 12:4…Virtuous woman is a crown to her husband • Proverbs 31:10

  7. If God where to look today…which would have more jewels? Your Heart Your Humanity Do I want to meet the world’s standards more than the Bible’s? Am I more concerned about what I see in the Mirror? Is my body more decorated than my heart? • Have I allowed myself to be humiliated according to the world’s standards? • Have I placed more effort in building my heart up over vanity? • Is my heart decorated with the Fruits of the Spirit?
