  4. The NCUK Guarantee • Studying on the programme guarantees students two conditional offers from NCUK’s partner universities • Students completing the IFY programme with a minimum of CCC and EAP C are guaranteed entry to one of NCUK’s partner universities

Students are welcome to apply to any university • Option of Medical degree profession • For students unable to meet the minimum requirements for the guarantee, there are options at NCUK partner universities and international study centres

Tuition and Timetabling • 20 hours of classroom tuition per week • 75% academic study, 25% EAP – this split addresses academic and linguistic needs • As part of their weekly timetable, students will also receive: • - Extra-curricular activities • - Meetings with their Senior Tutor • - University counselling • - Supervised study sessions • - PSHE sessions

Quick Facts • Course duration: One academic year (9 months) • Age: 17+ • Entry requirements: Completion of 11 or 12 years of education (depending on the education system) • English language level: IELTS 5.0+ overall • Start date: September 2019 • Tuition hours: 20 hours per week • Class size: Maximum of 10 students, average of 8 • Tuition fee: £19,950 (£6,650 per term) • Accommodation: Single ensuite college boarding or homestay

Teaching Style • Teaching of IFY is consistent and to the same standard as A-Level and other programmes • Tutors experienced in managing students’ transition to British education • Move from memorisation to analysis and critical thinking skills development • Teaching materials designed for international students – no linguistic or cultural bias • Maximum class size of 10 – high degree of attention for each student • First name terms with tutors

Assessed and moderated by NCUK

English Language • Students will also study English for Academic Purposes as an additional module • Designed to provide the language skills needed for a UK undergraduate degree. • University offers are made on an IELTS-equivalency basis. Eg. • - EAP A = IELTS 7.0 • - EAP B = IELTS 6.5 • - EAP C = IELTS 6.0

  13. NCUK IFY: Medical Route • Students can progress to an MBBS degree at University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and Saint George’s University, Grenada

  14. NCUK IFY: Medical Route Students who want to progress to an MBBS will study Maths (Science), Chemistry + one other Science module (Biology or Physics). Chemistry Biology Maths(Science) EAP

Entry Requirements: UCLan • For students who would like to study an MBBS degree at UCLan, they must meet the following entry requirements: • AAB from the NCUK IFY, including chemistry and at least one other science • English Language, EAP grade B • Personal Statement • Transferable Skills Statement • No aptitude test as part of the admissions process *Not part of the NCUK Guarantee

  16. St George’s University, Grenada • A new and exciting partnership between NCUK and Saint Georges University, Grenada, will be the first partnership of its kind to offer guaranteed progression to Medicine on successful completion of the qualification.

Entry Requirements: St George’s University • Subject grades of AABB • EAP Grade A • interview • Students who meet the entry requirements are guaranteed an offer from SGU, Grenada • Guaranteed International Student Scholarship of US $60,000 for students who enroll of this guaranteed route and progressing to Saint George’s University, Grenada

Progression Your students will have flexible progression opportunities including guaranteed progression* to the 5 year MD at Saint George’s University in the UK or Grenada campus (*subject to interview and meeting entry requirements) The 5 year MD will include a guaranteed 2 year Clinical Training Placement in US or UK or combination USA Route: IFY > 5 year MD including 3 years at Grenada campus + 2 years Clinical Training US/UK UK Route IFY > 5 year MD including 2 years at UK (SGU KBT) campus Newcastle + 1 year at Grenada +2 years Clinical Training US/UK

St Ebbes Residence COLLEGE BOARDING FOR STUDENTS AGED 15-18 • Comfortable, well equipped and spacious residence • Only a 5-minute walk from college • Communal dining room, kitchenettes throughout the residence and a separate living area with TV/Netflix • Single study bedrooms with private bathroom • Laundry facilities • Breakfast and hot fresh evening meal provided 7 days per week • Males and females in separate areas, access controlled • 24-hour staff cover by Residence Supervisors who are available to give personal supervision and support at any time of the day or night • Rooms in our residences are normally taken for a full academic year

Admissions Support • Step 1: Agent introduces programme and requirements to student with support from Regional Manager. • NCUK Agent Zone • NCUK Course finder • NCUK Entry requirements • Step 2: Agent to submit Online Application Form , school reports, passport, UKVI IELTS • Step 3: Admissions will issue offer and require payment of £2350 deposit (made up of £1000 academic deposit, £1000 accommodation deposit and £350 registration fee) and NCUK accompanying letter to outline progression routes available • Step 4: Remainder of tuition fees and accommodation fees required prior to CAS release
