  1. Choose Your Time

  2. For San Francisco City Hall wedding, choosing your time is about far more than picking what time and day you want to get married. With multiple ceremony time slots and locations available daily, choosing your wedding time in the conventional sense of the phrase is certainly easy. Being able to do so online is a convenience that makes it even easier. However, the magnificent design of the structure makes it possible to take choosing your time to a whole different level. Whether your wedding theme is to be formal or fun, this city hall can serve as the perfect backdrop.

  3. Built just after the turn of the 20th century, this city hall is an architectural marvel, an amazing period piece. It was completed in 1915, as the Edwardian Era was drawing to a close. In a sense, that period served as a bridge between the refinement of the Victorian lady and the freedom of the Roaring 20s Flapper. American fashion and social standards were still quite influenced by Great Britain and Europe. As the Edwardian age faded, so also did the degree to which England set the standards of dress and behavior among middle and upper class Americans.

  4. Each of those elements can be seen at play in the design of San Francisco City Hall. The Victorian Era was one that was enchanted by revivalist movements in architecture and design, something that helped widen the popularity of Beaux-Arts Movement that influenced Arthur Brown, the architect that designed San Francisco's famous municipal building. This style of architecture drew its inspiration from such great artistic eras as the Renaissance and Classic Greco-Roman, accented with Baroque and Rococo style ornamentation.

  5. City planners found Brown's elegant design to be just right for the City Beautiful Movement that swept the nation during the 1910s, a harbinger of the modernity of the 1920s and beyond. Interestingly, those same sorts of elements can be seen in the wedding dress trends for 2013. Edwardian style, perhaps influenced by the popularity of period dramas like Downton Abbey, is clearly recognizable in high fashion designers runway offerings for 2013. Another trending style that recently appeared on runways is a line of 1920s Flapper wedding dresses, with a hint of the era's Art Deco feel.

  6. Often formal wedding dresses do fall close close to period dresses in style, as much of formal wedding attire does tend toward the traditional. However, many plan wedding wear with an eye towards period dressing simply for the fun of it. With a setting like San Francisco City Hall Wedding and a professional photographer with an eye for scene, you can draw from just about any time period and still look almost seamlessly in place for gorgeous wedding pictures.

  7. Up to the minute fashions, fabulous period attire, or the eclectic clash of both, such as the creative and stylish Steampunk fashions are all perfect in the amazing atmosphere and design of San Francisco's gorgeous city hall. Enjoy the convenience and the fun of choosing the time you want to wed in one of San Francisco's most elegant public sites.
