Quiet Revolution • The quiet resolution was the 1960’s period of intense changes of Quebec. • The provincial government took over the fields of health care, and education, expanded the public service and made huge investment in the public education section. The government then allowed unionization of the civil service.
Although the Quiet Revolution was a period of unbridled economic and social development in Quebec, it also must be credited for the surge in Quebec Nationalism, which remains a controversial topic in modern Quebec society. • The Quiet revolution was marked by rapid economic expansion, cultural pride, and a revamping of public sector institutions to meet the needs of contemporary society. It was the start of a period of political tension; this is because the province sought to have a greater control over its economy, and the institutions.
