  5. Need something? If you need a tissue or your pencil breaks, just quietly take care of it. You do not have to ask special permission to get up. Just don’t disturb anyone. If you need to throw away garbage, wait until the end of class.

  11. Fire Bell – one long bell Calmly and quietly exit my room and go through the doors on the right. Cross the road and get in a single file line on the practice field near the Ag Department. Stay quiet. I will need to call roll. Allow room for emergency vehicles. Do not visit with other classes.

  12. Tornado bell – 2 long bells Quickly and quietly grab a large textbook. Boys will go into the boy’s restroom. Girls will be in the hallway to the boy’s restroom. Cover your head with your book. Stay quiet. We will need to listen for further directions.

  13. Intruder Alert Whoever is closer, shut the door and lock windows, close blinds. Sit silently on the floor near the bookshelves. Do not make any noises!! We do not want to be heard.

  14. Ontask & Exit Slips • Please pick up a small paper from the table at the front. • Work the ontask problem on the front of the paper as I check homework. • At the end of class, I will give you an additional problem. Work it on the back of the sheet. I will grade those before you leave. Do your best to get it correct.

  15. Cooperative Learning Groups We will work in groups sometimes. Each person is responsible for doing his or her part. No slackers!!! Begin work immediately. This is not social time. Speak in soft voices.

  16. Homework Homework is posted on the board at the front of the room. You can also find it listed on my website. Homework is work 5 points each day. Those points can really help or hurt you.

  17. Homework policy As soon as you come into class, place your homework on the right upper hand corner of your desk. While you are working on your ontask activity, I will verify that you made a sincere effort to complete all problems. You will receive full credit (5 points) if each problem has been attempted.

  18. Notebook Check (Easy grade) You should keep up with your homework and notes. I will call for a notebook check each nine weeks. You will be told which problems to find and you will copy the answer for a grade. Make sure that you check your homework and correct any missed problems. Make sure all notes are dated and labeled by chapter and section. Keep these organized.

  19. Tests Remove all materials from desk except for pencils, paper, and calculator (if allowed). Place your name and date on the paper and wait for instructions. When you finish the test, recheck your work if time permits. Place your papers in designated plastic folder on side wall. Keep your eyes on your own paper.

  20. Absent Make sure you show me any homework I would have checked while you were out. My grade book will show a zero until you show me the work. You should make up test in a timely matter. Generally, I allow one day per day absent. Example: absent 2 days = 2 days until makeup test

  21. If you are absent You must bring an excuse within 2 days of absence. You will be allowed to make up any missed work if the absence is excused. If you do not bring an excuse within 2 days, you will receive a zero for that assignment. I will not come to you about missed work. It is your responsibility. Don’t forget to find out what you have missed.

  22. Absent I generally give make up tests before school. I normally arrive each day at 7:10 a.m. If it is not possible for you to take the makeup test before school, you may be able to take it during flex.
