Self Introduction • My name: Dinh • Working for NetNam ISP Corp., Hanoi, Vietnam • R&D Department • Technical Project Coordinator • Graduated from • GITS, Waseda, Distributed Computing Sys., 2006 (MSc) • Hanoi University of Technology, Electronics & Telecom. 1999 (BSc) • Now • Ph.D. candidate in Nakazato Lab.

  4. What I am working on • BitTorrent file sharing • Peer-to-Peer (P2P) content distribution • Speed up content distribution with network coding • Optimize resource usage in network coding content distribution

  5. What were invented last 10 years? • Peer-to-peer • Alternate to IP layer multicast • Fix the scalability problem of client-server model • Network coding • A breakthrough in optimizing multicast throughput • Your requested data can be linearly added up while they are reaching you

  6. What for next 10 years? • More on applications • Social networks • Disaster prevention systems • Ubiquitous, ad-hoc • Troublesome to maintain networks and end-system • Self organized, self manageable • Cloud computing • Computation, software, data access, and storage services are some where you don’t know
