  1. ANALYSIS OF UBCH10 EXPRESSION REPRESENTS A USEFUL TOOL FOR THE DIAGNOSIS AND THERAPY OF LUNG CANCER Donato G., Conforti F., Zuccalà V., Amorosi A.. U.O. di Anatomia Patologica Università degli Studi di Catanzaro Magna Græcia

  2. The expression of UbcH10 gene, that codes for a protein that belongs to the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family, as a valid indicator of the proliferative and aggressive status of tumors of different origin.

  3. There is no expression of UBCH10 in normal lung.

  4. Normallung

  5. Therefore, to look for possible tools to be used as diagnostic markers in lung neoplasias, we have investigated UbcH10 expression in low grade and high grade lungs tumors by immunohistochemistry.

  6. Non-smallcelllungcancer

  7. Smallcelllungcancer

  8. Our data indicate a correlation between UbcH10 expression and the histological grade of the lungs tumors. It is possible that up-regulation of UbcH10 play a role in progression of lungs tumors.

  9. Finally, since proteasome inhibitors have been, recently, considered as possible drugs in the chemotherapy of various tumors our results would suggest new perspectives for the treatment of lung malignancies based on the suppression of the UbcH10 function by these drugs.
