  2. Recording and Editing Video All you frustrated Spielbergs out there now get your special lecture. First, let’s loot at how to record video.

  3. Capture using MovieMaker Windows MoviewMaker is free and made by Microsoft. It comes with most PCs and can be downloaded. Start it from the START menu programs list

  4. Moviemaker

  5. MovieMaker Before starting MovieMaker make certain that your webcam is plugged in and working. Check out : http://www.testwebcam.com/

  6. Now run MovieMaker Click on ‘webcam video

  7. GameMaker 7

  8. Note that the STOP button is now active and there is a timer running. Click STOP when you are finished recording. Capture

  9. Pick a name. Will only save as a .wmv file. You can save the file now

  10. Back to main window 2.5 second blocks Stars Tile

  11. Download a capture tool (I’m using CamStudio) and install if needed). Using Screen Capture

  12. Our project: a ball that moves. Object: a ball. The ball’s sprite should look like a ball. We can make a ball using paint or some such program. Or we can borrow one. Making our own will contribute to making the final work our own. Borrowing is faster. Objects

  13. Ball from google. Search: ‘ball’ under the ‘images’ class. It’s too big (trust me). Make it smaller – say, 32x32 Now we start … Objects

  14. We are going to make a ‘ball’ object. (why?) The object will have a sprite (or we can’t see it) so let’s make that first. (in windows visual compilers this would be a ‘resource’, and game developers would call it an ‘asset’) Click the Sprites link on the left hand menu. A new menu pops up: Objects
