  3. LEVER HOIST • A Level Hoist is usually equipped with heavy duty load covers to hold your object comfortably and swivel top that allows easy lifting from all angles. The hand wheel can then be rotated to release or pull the length of the chain as needed. The ratchet lever, attached to the side of the elevator lever, allows the chain to become free when in a neutral position. • Manual chain hoists don’t require any electricity or power source. This makes them much more portable compared to electric hoists. • Manual hoists are more economical than electric or hydraulic hoists.
