Listening to learners. At Oakdale Comprehensive. Student Lesson Audit. The audit was carried out on Monday 8 th of November 2010. Lesson 2. All pupils filled in a questionnaire focusing on their experience in lesson one that day. The Questionnaire had 3 sections.

  1. Listening to learners At Oakdale Comprehensive.

  2. Student Lesson Audit. The audit was carried out on Monday 8th of November 2010. Lesson 2. All pupils filled in a questionnairefocusing ontheir experience in lesson one that day.

  3. The Questionnaire had3 sections • The structure of the lesson • Perceived lesson outcomes. • Relationships between staff and pupils and how teachers are perceived.

  4. Publishing the results • All staff were given a copy of the report. • It generated much discussion in the staff room.

  5. The Student Voice Group. • Nine students from year 7 to year 10. • Three sessions

  6. Each session had a focus. • What are the qualities of a good teacher • What makes a good lesson. • What gets in the way of their learning in class and what helps them to learn

  7. Posters • In each session the students created a poster on the theme. • These posters were displayed in the staff room on the teaching and learning notice board. • Areport was written and distributed to all staff.

  8. The DVD • We have produced a DVD. • It is being shown in assembly this week. • All students and all teachers will see this DVD.
