Identify ‘N’ Impact Investment Funding Program • Purpose: help to promote healthy youth development and broader community safety in the City of Toronto • Support youth to lead anddeliver projects that will engage other youth. • By supporting youth-led groups, the INI program helps create opportunities for youth to develop skills and get the resources they need to be successful. • To be funded, projects must: • show that youth are the leaders in the project planning, management and delivery; • involve youth from and/or based in one of the City's 13 neighbourhood improvement areas; and/or • work with racialized youth, particularly African-Canadian youth • Application Deadline: Wednesday, September 19, 2012. • Funding : $10,000 for a one year project 2012 Identify ‘N’ Impact Investment Program

Who Can Apply? • Youth-led groups of at least three or more youth • Youth-led groups that are part of a partnership or network of two or more community organizations • Youth-led committee or initiative of a community organization. • The youth group must be the applicant. The adult-led organization can not apply on behalf of the youth group. Youth must write the INI application, plan the project and make the project happen A trustee is not required to apply. If you are approved for funding you will be asked to find a trustee. A group is considered "youth-led" if the following criteria is met: • a majority of the group's leadership are youth between the ages of 15 – 24 years old; and the group makes decisions about its activities independent from any other community organization. 2012 Identify ‘N’ Impact Investment Program

Timeline • Week of July 30th: Application up on website and emailed out • August/September: Information sessions by ARO’s (dates, locations TBA) • September 19th: application deadline (by email or mail/hand) • October – Youth Panel reviews applications • November – recommendations to Committee and Council • January 2013 – funding to groups, projects to start 2012 Identify ‘N’ Impact Investment Program
