School supplies for math II & math I Advanced • Required Course Materials: • A 3-ring binder (2”) with 5 Dividers/Tabs labeled : • Blue/black pens  AND sharpened pencils  with erase • Highlighter  (Any color) • Expo Markers (at least 2) - thick • Red pen (For checking and revising purposes  ONLY) • Colored Pencils/Crayons • Composition Notebook • Loose-leaf paper     • Index cards • Ruler, scissor • Textbook (will be distributed digitally-flash drive) • Workbooks will be given out the first day of school. • In the event that a student loses their workbook an additional • workbook will need to be purchased for fee of $5.00. • Students will also have the option to upload the workbook to a flash drive. • Flash drive • FOR PERIOD 4 & PERIOD 5 ONLY!!!! A COMPOSITION BOOK for R.E.A.D.

  9. Homework policy • Homework is given daily and must be completed by the next time that you come into class. • Homework will be checked for completion in the first 10 minutes of class.

  10. Grading Policy • Grading Policy: • Grades will be calculated according to the following system as determined by the math department: • Tests 35% • Quizzes 25% • Study Island (computer problems) 15% • Classwork (Effort and participation) 15% • Homework 10% • TOTAL 100%

CLASSROOM PROCEDURES & rules • Raise your hand if you need to ask or answer a question. • Do not get up from your seat unless you have asked for permission. • There is absolute NO talking while I am teaching a lesson unless I call on you. • Do not disrupt the learning environment of your peers. • Support and praise each other. Together We Achieve More. • Always remember that there is a time for fun and a time for work. • Bullying will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate referral to the dean of discipline. • Bathroom use will be limited. If bathroom use is too excessive, there will be a call home. Try to use the bathroom in between classes or during lunch. (4th & 5th period needs to make sure they use the bathroom during lunch as you will not be allowed in class unless there is an emergency.

  12. What to do when you walk into class • Sit down and read everything that is on the board. • Immediately take out your homework and have it on your desk for the teacher to check. Keep in mind that I will not accept homework that is turned in later on during class. • Take out your planner and immediately write your homework down. • There will be daily warm-up activities. Make sure that you begin these immediately after you write your homework down as they will be timed. (These will sometimes be quizzes) • When done with warm-up activity, read the objective for the day to find out what we are learning and sit quietly and wait for me to begin the daily lesson.

  13. STUDY ISLAND • Will be completed at home. • Reports are only run to monitor your progress. You will be responsible to manage your time at home for the completion of the units. • Directions for Study Island will be given later in the week.
