  1. JRA9 Products Atlantic Ocean and Global C.Coatanoan (Ifremer) & IEO-DC

  2. Aggregated data • Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution • After the meeting in last December, it was decided to exchange data between SeaDataNet partners, to aggregate data as soon as possible in order to elaborate the most complete climatology. • Because nowadays, the data can not be downloading directly from the CDI, the data have to be sent to the aggregate Data Centers. • Because some data have to be included in different regions and because of global product done by IFREMER, the complete data set should be sent to IFREMER to check the duplication and then IFREMER can send the data to the corresponding centre for analysis.   • First exchanges done between IEO and IFREMER. • Waiting for others partners ? BODC, INRH, MI, IHPT ….

  3. CTD DATA in ODV format • Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution N surveys = 224 N cast = 12 746 IEO Data Center

  4. Bottles DATA in ODV format • Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution N surveys = 146 N bottle cast = 4 847 IEO Data Center

  5. Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution IEO Data Center

  6. CTD from IEO & SISMER • Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution CTD and Argo Profilers

  7. Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution

  8. with NODC data • Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution

  9. Objective analysis • Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution • Method : • The Geostatistic Analysis Tool DIVA has been implemented in both IEO (Autumn 2008) and IFREMER (Last Month) institutes. • IODE levels are taken into account to produce fields and maps. • Objectives to produce fields and maps : • Since the sub region of the Gulf of Biscay can be extracted from the climatological maps of the Atlantic region, the work will be distributed between IEO and IFREMER. The effort of the IEO partner will be to elaborate climatology for some parameters which will be defined between the both partners.   • To share also with others partners of JRA9 ….

  10. Salinity Temperature • Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution Salinity and Temperature at level 13 (1200) Month : December

  11. Maps on web for QC by the expert. • Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution Region: Bay of Biscay Temperature: 100 m IEO Data Center

  12. http://www.ifremer.fr/co/co0525/en/global/ • Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution Global Products

  13. Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution Nomenclature for Atlantic and Global • Region • Atlantic : atl - Global :  gb • Period •               01 / 02 / 03 .. / 12 •               00 ( for complete period) in case we process the complete period • Level (using 4 digits) •             0000 •             0010 • ..... •            5500 • For example - the file name  atl010200.png • corresponding to the climatology map of the Atlantic, January, level 200 pressure

  14. Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution From JRA4 – Ulg-GHER netCDF files provided to Ulg-GHER

  15. Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution Ex. of web site for diffusion of climatologies Maps for the seasons will be also available : spring, summer, autumn and winter.   But there are not enough data for the monthly climatology.

  16. Dataset • Method • Products • Distribution To conclude • For assembling the data : • IFREMER is leader of the Atlantic and Global Products. All the partners should send the data, in ODV format, to IFREMER to eliminate the duplicates then IFREMER can send aggregated dataset to the SeaDataNet partners. Waiting from others partners ?? • To define the limits for the Atlantic climatology: • Overlapping : To exchange with others JRAs to be sure about the limits of the oceanic area to study. • Distribution of the work : • To share the climatologies to produce between partners. To be in agreement with the list of parameters to work on. • Diffusion of the product in the web: • Which place ? What design ? In any case we should agree in the nomenclature of figures. It is necessary that all the partners send their data ( public and non public) to produce a more reliable climatology.
