  5. I really enjoyed the Lenape trip because of fire making, my group had some success. We made a fire! Also you would always have a partner so your wood would not go anywhere besides under your foot so you wouldn’t let the fire go anywhere. Back then the Lenape would carry the ash of the fire in a box so they wouldn’t have to make a fire everywhere they went because that would be very hard for them. They used fire for cooking, light and heat. They also used it for clearing trees to make gardens.

  6. I had a blast at the Lenape Village because of pottery. We made tiny pinch pots! When we made the pinch pots our tour guide told us what they used them for. They said that they used them for holding water and carrying materials around with them also they used the pinch pots for cooking and really just carrying things around with them. They also said that the clay pots were very helpful to them and that they would harden but if you put them under water even after one-thousand years if you would put it under water it would be moist and go back to soft clay again so they would have to be very careful and wise with their pinch pots.

  7. I loved the Lenape trip also because of cordage making. The cordage was made from sinew and that was made from dog vain, animal testons and cattail fibers. They used the cordage for making fishing nets, the strings for bows, wrapping the arrow head, tie together houses and tightening stuff together. It was important to the Lenape because they needed cordage to hold things together for shelter and other stuff also they tied stuff together to make hunting materials to catch their food and many good reasons and they are all used for safety and health so they can live!
