    1. Navajo Conflicts A story about one of the Navajo’s and American’s Battle By Moira L.

    2. The Navajos The Navajos originally lived at Four Corners which is where four corners of four states meet in the US. The Navajo’s lived in small houses called Hogan's (1). In 1846 the Americans came to Four Corners in America with the intention to make the Navajos home, the Americans territory (1). As you can see below is a picture of a Navajos home a Hogan.

    3. The Americans The British who soon became Americans, were people that came to America in hopes to make that land there's (5).

    4. The Battle The “total war” had begun in 1860 be- tween the Navajos and the Americans (1). In 1864 Navajos were forced to walk to a reservation at Fort Sumter, in New Mexico, because the Americans wanted the Navajos land. The Navajos stayed there until 1868 (1).

    5. The Agreement The agreement was that the Navajo’s were moved to a reservation in 1868 at Four Corners. Which there the Navajo’s had good soil to grow crops and survive. In return the Navajo agreed to live peacefully with the American settlers (1). A picture of a agreement is below.

    6. Weaponry There was a lot of weapons used in the Navajo Conflicts and here are some of them. Some weapons the Navajos used are Horses (2), Bows and Arrows (3), Spears, and Rawhide Shields (Shields made of thick skin of a Buffalos neck) (4). Some of the weapons the Americans used are the Weather by having a blizzard storm at the perfect time on the Navajos (2), and Guns (3),
