  3. Phase 2: Waxing cresent This is a waxing Cresent When you see the Moon as a slim cresent , in the west after sunset it’s a waxing moon. is that Earths shadow on the moon? N, it’s the moons own shadow.

  4. Phase 3: First quarter The moon is half lit up and half is darkened.

  5. Phase 4: Waxing gibbous Gibbous is a Latin word.

  6. Phase 5: Full moon The whole moon is lit up.

  7. Phase 6:Waning gibbous The Waning Gibbous Moon is just past full and illuminated generally from the left.

  8. Phase 7:Last quarter The last quarter is almost the same as the first quarter but the side that is lit up is on the left side instead of the right.

  9. Phase 8:Waning cresent A Waning Cresent is sometimes called an old moon
