  4. #1 Rule for any formatting style: Always Follow your instructor’s guidelines!

Format: General Guidelines • Type on white 8.5” x 11” paper • Double-space everything • http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/double-space-the-lines-in-a-document-HP010016550.aspx • Use 12 pt. Times New Roman font • http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/change-or-set-the-default-font-HP010014408.aspx • Leave only one space after punctuation • Set all margins to 1 inch on all sides • http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/change-page-margins-HP005229275.aspx • Indent each paragraph ½ inch (MLA prefers tab) • Create a header that includes your last name and page number in the upper right-hand corner.
